Cargo Shipping from the UK

Cargo Shipping from the UK to India

Cargo shipping from the UK to India is one of AEON India’s most active routes. No surprise there. The UK and India go way back — centuries of trade between them, and that connection hasn’t faded one bit. That relationship is still going strong — and the volume of goods moving between the two countries shows no sign of slowing down.

But organising a shipment from London to Mumbai involves more factors than most people expect. The right carrier, the correct documentation, customs on both ends — get any of it wrong and your cargo isn’t going anywhere. That’s exactly the kind of headache we take away from you.

Methods of Shipping to India from the UK

Shipping to India from the UK gives you three ways to move your goods. Air freight, sea freight, or land transport. Each one suits a different type of cargo and a different kind of deadline.

Shipping By Air Freight

This mode is quick — three to five days from Heathrow or Manchester to major Indian cities. Seven to ten, if you’re counting door-to-door. A lot of shippers reach straight for it without thinking. Then the invoice lands. When your goods are genuinely time-sensitive or high-value, that cost is justified. When they’re not — honestly, sea freight will do the same job for a fraction of the price. You’d be spending far more than the job needs.

Shipping By Sea Freight

Sea freight is the workhorse of the UK-India trade route. Ships leave from major UK ports — Felixstowe, Southampton, Tilbury — and arrive at Indian ports like Nhava Sheva or Mundra in roughly three to five weeks. Not quick. But dramatically cheaper than air for anything heavy or bulky.

Two options here. FCL — Full Container Load — means the whole container is yours. Nothing else goes in. LCL — Less than Container Load — means your cargo shares space with other shipments. Smaller load, lower cost. Not sure which one works for you? We’ll figure it out and give you a straight answer.

Shipping By Land Freight

Arriving at Nhava Sheva or Chennai is not the end of the journey — it’s the start of the final leg. AEON India arranges delivery from the port or airport to the final address, anywhere in India. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, a small town in Gujarat — wherever your cargo needs to go, we get it there. India’s road network is extensive, and moving goods across it efficiently takes the right contacts and real on-the-ground experience. We have both. The shipment isn’t closed until it’s delivered.

What We Import to India

Why choose Aeon India for International Cargo Services?

AEON India is built on a foundation that goes back over 15 years. Our parent company has been operating freight out of Dubai since before most logistics startups existed. Dubai isn’t an easy market. Competition is fierce. Clients have plenty of options. Building a reputation there — and keeping it — means you’ve genuinely earned it. That track record took us global.

Trusted Packing and Shipping Service

We don’t just book space and step back. Every shipment gets proper packing, correct labelling, and full documentation prepared before anything moves. The small details are where things go wrong. We don’t skip them.

International Shipping Experience

130+ countries served. Over 20,000 shipments completed. 9,000 satisfied clients — with more coming on board all the time. And we hold a 4.5-star Google rating from over 1,000 genuine reviews. Not marketing fluff. Real customers who trusted us with their cargo and took the time to say so.

Warehouse Storage Facilities

Need your goods stored safely before or after transit? Our warehouse facilities offer clean, organised storage with full inventory management. A few boxes or a full container — we’ve got the space and the systems to handle it properly.

Handling Customs

Indian customs have their quirks. So does UK export compliance since Brexit. A lot of first-time shippers get caught out on both ends. We manage the whole process — every document checked, every declaration filed correctly before your shipment leaves the ground.
